 Position responsibilities

  • The Director of Claims facilitates and coordinates a dynamic and results-oriented Claims function within our organization
  • This individual will work with Producers and Commercial Insurance Department (CID) teams to identify opportunities to deliver valued services
  • Understand the integration of Lockton Advantage and Strategic Engagement with Risk Control Services
  • Implement industry-differentiated strategies to leverage strengths that are integrated with CID and client objectives
  • Be closely involved in major new business opportunities, using the impact of Claim Services to support sales efforts to increase revenue
  • Demonstrate the ability to increase the clients’ perceived value of claim services through: Identifying industry trends and creation of potential solutions that can be provided to our client base and differentiate Lockton from our competitors both on a pre-loss and post-loss basis
  • Identifying pre-loss strategies that will positively impact loss avoidance or greater claim management
  • Implement internal controls and procedures to assure the consistent performance of claim services associates necessary for excellence in customer satisfaction and the performance of appropriate type of services.
  • Ensure the strategic deployment of all claim services resources and staff to meet Producer and client expectations, as well as the business responsibilities
  • Accumulate required continuing educational credits to maintain current insurance license
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Position qualifications

  • This individual will possess a bachelor’s degree in a business-related program or equivalent education and/or experience required
  • Working knowledge of commercial property/casualty coverages, services and programs, with a solid understanding of commercial property and casualty Third Party Administrator claims handling.
  • Complete understanding of all marketing and servicing issues related to all types of commercial property/casualty accounts
  • Understanding of the overall business, operations, and commercial insurance needs of clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to assess, coach, and mentor Claims associates
  • Must have the ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and be away from home more than one day and night
  • Legally able to work in the United States
