  • Support the General Counsel in the Legal Department in all aspects of organization and administration.
  • Support other lawyers within the US Legal Department as needed.
  • Schedule and arrange internal and external meetings and appointments.
  • Support Lockton, Inc. Board of Directors (schedule meetings and catering, assemble and distribute Board materials, track outside Director compensation, etc.).
  • Assist with the development of “know your customer” requests from certain global vendors.
  • Prepare basic agreements and administer organizational processes for efficient delivery of Department work product.
  • Administer entity management, legal matter management system, billing, and legal hold systems as well as other operational and organizational tools to promote and achieve efficient processes.
  • Compose and/or prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and other documents ensuring proper format, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Work with external counsel in coordination with lawyers in Department.
  • Receive, read, and handle daily e-mail requests, paying special attention to items requiring immediate attention.
  • Answer incoming calls, screen calls, answer questions, refer callers to appropriate associate, or take messages.
  • Provide support to upper-level executives, including interaction with clients; assist clients via telephone or in person.
  • Meet regularly with lawyers to receive and provide updates on work assignments.
  • Coordinate meetings; arrange for catering.
  • Arrange certain phases of travel, as well as maintaining records and itineraries.
  • Responsible for all expense report-related activities, such as receipt, collection and follow up, preparation and submission of expense reports.
  • Provide limited support through at least April 30, 2022 for the former Lockton, Inc. CEO.
  • Serve as a role model to other associates with respect to positive attitude, performance, and leadership.



  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of five years’ Legal Secretary and/or Paralegal experience.
  • Strong internal and external customer service skills, along with the ability to develop sound relationships.
  • Above-average proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Above-average proficiency with entity management, matter management, legal billing, and legal hold systems and legal filing.
  • Experience with drafting legal documents and correspondence, either utilizing forms or originating the document.
  • Organization and time management skills to prioritize workload and meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and under time constraints.
  • Results oriented with the ability to change priorities as needed.
  • Above-average verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with associates at all levels of responsibility, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to protect confidential information along with precise and careful handling of critically sensitive and confidential documents.
  • Proven ability to work independently along with a strong ability to use good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and urgency.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through, in a timely manner, on tasks to their completion.
  • Legally able to work in the United States.
