Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, business, accounting, or other field; or equivalent education and experience with emphasis in insurance, risk management, business, accounting, or finance
  • Two to four years of property & casualty insurance experience preferred.
  • A firm understanding of various casualty coverages, including general liability, auto and workers’ compensation, and the differences in claim handling for these coverages based on insurance program structure (guaranteed cost vs. loss sensitive)
  • Strong ability to organize claims and loss data and to compile, analyze, present, and interpret insurance and financial information to facilitate decision making.
  • A desire to learn from experience, ask questions and seek out advice and guidance from others.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapting to change and working on tight deadlines to meet team needs
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage time, prioritize and ensure that deadlines are met without compromising quality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with associates at all levels
  • Strong technical skills with key tools such as Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills, including resolving unusual and complex issues
  • Working knowledge of general office and administrative procedures, such as file management, Internet research, time and calendar management
  • Occasional travel required
