Proposal Manager
Position qualifications
• 5+ years professional experience in bid management; insurance brokerage experience and proposal training and/or certifications (e.g., APMP) preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical Writing, Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications, or relevant field, OR equivalent years of related experience in writing and editing large, complex proposals and oral presentation deliverables
• Solid understanding of proposal software such as SharePoint, Salesforce, Workfront, RFPio / RFP360 or Loopio; knowledge of design concepts and tools (InDesign, Adobe Publisher or other desktop publishing application); and advanced abilities in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
• Experience implementing standard proposal processes or procedures
• Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to:
• Manage and prioritize several projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines (working overtime as needed)
• Operate in both strategic and hands-on capacities
• Guide and effectively influence with and without authority; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management, proposal teams, SMEs, peers, and teaming partners
• Develop compelling themes, discriminators, and messaging to communicate value proposition
• Work well collaboratively and independently
• Manage geographically disparate teams
• Create original strategic content using interview and research techniques
• Legally work in the United States
