Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Previous experience with mining or energy accounts is a plus
  • Minimum 10-year industry experience
  • Has or is working towards the completion of CPCU, ARM, or similar designation and willingness to expand knowledge and effectiveness in insurance industry by successful completion of extended insurance education beyond continuing education requirements for licensing
  • Viewed as collaborative, patient, and a team player across Series and Lockton as a whole
  • Fully developed network of contacts within Lockton
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to prioritize heavy workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial information and data to facilitate decision making
  • Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives
  • Advanced working knowledge of commercial property/casualty coverage’s and services
  • Understands and can articulate the full suite of Lockton services, including our analytics platform and Lockton Advantage
  • Current resident-state P&C insurance license, or ability to obtain same immediately
  • Substantial experience in marketing and servicing the insurance needs of
  • commercial accounts
  • Demonstrate ability to instill confidence and comfort with clients so client looks to you and to Lockton as more than just an insurance broker, but a partner in business
  • Wholly understands the concept, issues, and overall impact of market pricing
  • Understanding of commercial rating concepts
  • Ability to consult clients on other Lockton services and insurance needs
  • Ability to make decisions in compliance with established Lockton standards of quality performance and service
  • Understanding and executing superior service and relationship in accordance with Lockton quality procedures and performance standards
  • Professional/polished presence to interface with top management of other businesses, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner
  • Demonstrated understanding of when to proceed alone and when to involve the Producer, Unit Manager, or others
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead the service team and harness resources for the benefit of the client
  • Ability and willingness to proactively coach and mentor other Associates
  • Ability to provide clear direction and act as leader of account team

  • Strong work ethic—prompt, willingness to put in the work to do whatever it takes to assist client or prospect
  • Strong performer with several high-rated performance reviews

  • Ability to speak into and adequately hear voices from telephone equipment
  • Ability and willingness to travel by automobile and aircraft, and stay for more than one day and night
