  • Providing assistance in strategic planning and consulting advice to clients to include assistance with the production of Requests for Proposal, coordinating vendor responses, analysis and comparison of RFP responses, and preparation of a client report with recommendations
  • Facilitate quotes, amendments and reinstatement as requested or needed
  • Oversee the servicing of a designated book or partial book of business as relating to marketing, claims and administration
  • Negotiate baseline quotes to ensure best options for clients prior to binding and determine appropriate recommendations for clients
  • Collaborate with clients to determine funding solutions, long range objectives and overall risk tolerance
  • Interpret clients’ current coverages and identifies/recommends gaps, alternatives, additional plan design changes, etc.
  • Develop financial models and reports for clients and more senior staff, provides interpretation and implication of analysis, as well as recommendations
  • Assist in developing an implementation plan with client to include assistance with coordinating and attending enrollment meetings
  • Assist in the review of all agreements and/or documents related to client’s business
  • Conduct industry specific surveys as may be requested by client
  • Provide assistance to clients on compliance issues (clients are directed to seek legal counsel on complex issues)
  • Meet with clients alone or in conjunction with Team or Company Leadership to review a) large claims, b) abnormal utilization results, c) monthly claims experience, d) set strategies and goals, and e) conduct on-site claims visits
  • Facilitate meet and greets with new markets or new products with existing markets
  • Research and understand industry trends and carrier product offerings
  • Maintain knowledge of and on governmental compliance and regulations in order to educate and consult client(s)
  • Mentor and train Benefits Analysts, Account Managers and Sr. Account Managers
  • Other responsibilities as assigned and/or needed


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field or equivalent experience in the insurance industry
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the insurance industry, specifically in employee welfare benefits
  • Strong knowledge of differing financial arrangements and products available to clients (i.e. fully insured, self-insured, minimum premium, ASO)
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills including but not limited to building rapport, negotiating and persuading
  • Experience conducting open enrollment benefits meetings
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to develop strong client relationships with multiple clients
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with the broker and or employee benefits industry
  • Ability to interact with vendors effectively
  • Excellent computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet expertise 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Required insurance licenses
  • Legal right to work in the United States
