  • The Senior Accountant examines, analyzes, and interprets accounting records in order to prepare financial statements, provide consultant advice, and audit and evaluate statements prepared by others.
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepares journal entries to record monthly activity, including cash, revenue, fees, liabilities, chargebacks, transfers and adjustments for complex, high volume accounts
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries
  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements, proposing changes in strategies and polices as needed
  • Prepares quarterly withholding and distribution requirements for shareholders
  • Monitors developments in applicable areas of the tax law to determine the impact on the Company’s tax return positions
  • Analyzes and prepares annual federal, state, and location tax compliance work papers in related area of expertise
  • Documents tax policies and procedures to correspond with the issuance of new or revised accounting policies
  • Assist in defending the Company’s tax positions during audits and in responding to notices in various taxing jurisdictions
  • Assists in the production and reconciliation of Producer accounting and commissions
  • Assists in the auditing of financial statements, including footnotes and related information
  • Interfaces with the external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Assists with the preparation and administration of the annual budget and forecast development
  • Completes ad-hoc reporting and special projects as needed
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as needed
  • Coordinates the utilization of all appropriate resources on team to address client needs
  • Creates and communicates teams goals that are aligned to corporate imperatives and ensures milestones are being met by team
  • Conducts, communicates, and submits annual performance reviews in a timely manner
  • May be responsible for budgetary planning and adherence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or years of experience equivalent
  • Typically requires five years of experience in related field
  • Understands industry trends and governmental regulations
  • Ability to solve complex analytical problems
  • Ability to complete continuing education requirements as needed
  • Ability to attend company, department, and team meetings as required, including industry training sessions
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
  • Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft
  • Ability to use office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, calculator, photocopier, and facsimile machine
  • Ability to work on a computer for a prolonged amount of time
