Standards Captain
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees all Standards initiatives and is expert aircraft advisor to Executive Captain
- Providing pilot leadership to include scheduling and leadership at group meetings providing oversight to Standardization and Training activities
- Publishes meeting agendas and makes available all meeting agendas and minutes to all department personnel.
- Teams with the Lockton maintenance department technician team representative on aircraft maintenance issues.
- Participates in the discussions, recommendations and decisions for all major aircraft modifications, maintenance and equipment purchases.
- Maintains a working relationship with the aircraft manufacturer and training vendors.
- Relays information to the entire pilot team from maintenance personnel, individual pilots, manufacturers and vendors on aircraft maintenance and operational issues.
- Recommends aircraft Standard Operating Procedures and Aircraft Checklist changes to the Standards Team.
- Recommends and reviews revisions to the Lockton Flight Department AOM.
- Reinforcing flight Standards and established procedures.
- Conducts periodic AOM Reviews and Testing.
- Participates in meetings with Training vendors and providers.
- Develops plans for annual recurrent training. In concert with the Executive Captain, establish, monitor and update the training syllabus conducted at each aircraft contract training facility.
- Participates in the conduct of new hire, upgrade, transition, and return to status training.
- The Standards Captain is responsible for setting the example of professional crew communication for the entire pilot team.
