Senior Account Executive- Employee Benefits
Lockton is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Account Executive to manage a portfolio of high-profile clients. This role requires a deep understanding of health and welfare strategies, exceptional client service skills, and the ability to influence client decision-making at the highest levels. The Senior Account Executive will serve as the primary technical and strategic advisor to clients, ensuring full alignment between client business objectives and Lockton's technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with self-funded plans, unbundled solutions, and a proven track record of managing complex client relationships. They will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to continually improve client service and strategic practices, driving client satisfaction and engagement.
Position Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary technical and strategic advisor to clients, interfacing effectively and confidently with senior management and C-suite executives of clients and/or prospects, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner.
• Manage a complex client book, with the majority of clients being self-funded; demonstrate tenured experience with unbundled plans and in-depth knowledge of TPAs, PBMs, and stop-loss carriers.
• Influence client decision-making, including strategic and tactical direction. Anticipate and address client and team needs, measuring the results of client experiences and the efficacy of overall strategies to ensure desired outcomes and effectiveness.
• Develop short and long-term strategic planning guidance, review financial reporting with clients, and utilize in-depth knowledge of InfoLock and point solutions where appropriate.
• Oversee renewal, marketing, and implementation efforts, taking a lead role in carrier selection and financial negotiations.
• Handle complex underwriting and funding issues and strategies.
• Oversee the account team as it relates to client deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
• Develop mutually beneficial relationships with insurance carriers and administrators to generate optimal results for clients, including competitive costs, renewals, and expedient problem resolution.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to continually improve client service and strategic practices, assist with special projects, and or in support of national initiatives. Mentor and train junior-level staff.
• Make a positive contribution to customer satisfaction and constantly strive to improve service to the customer.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and/or years of equivalent experience
• Typically, 10+ years of client services experience in the employee benefits industry is required.
• Minimum of 7 years working knowledge of group benefits in multiple product lines.
• At least five years of advanced Account Executive level experience.
• Working knowledge of different financial arrangements and products available to clients.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting, financial arrangements, and funding approaches.
• Ability to prepare and present client presentations with clarity and understanding.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills required.
• Knowledge of industry trends and governmental regulations.
• Ability to complete continuing education requirements as needed.
• Ability to attend company, department, and team meetings as required, including industry training sessions.
• Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting the confidentiality of client and company information.
• Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time to meet deadlines.
• Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft.
• Proficiency in using office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, calculator, and photocopier.
• Ability to work on a computer for a prolonged amount of time.
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
• Legally able to work in the United States.
